# Plans and Limits

> How plan limits are applied, and what happens to your products, rules and other data when you move to a lower plan.

Your plan sets how many of each thing a shop can hold: products, variants per product, coupons, blacklist and whitelist entries, team members, affiliates, downloadable files and so on. The dashboard shows your current usage against each limit on the [**Subscription Plan**](https://dash.sellauth.com/subscription) page.

## Limits apply when you add something

A limit is checked at the moment you create a new entry. Products, coupons and rules that already exist are never counted against you after the fact. If you are at the limit, the create action is refused with a message naming the limit, and everything you already have keeps working.

## Nothing is deleted on a downgrade

Moving to a lower plan, or letting a paid plan expire, does not delete, hide or disable anything you created on the higher plan.

* A shop with 500 products that drops from Scale to Business or Free keeps all 500. They stay visible on the storefront and keep selling. You just cannot add a new product until you upgrade again, or delete enough to get under the new limit.
* The same holds for every other counted resource: blacklist and whitelist rules keep blocking, coupons keep redeeming, team members keep their access, affiliates keep earning, downloadable files keep delivering.
* Settings, orders, customers, invoices, analytics and your theme are untouched.

Upgrading again lifts the limit straight away. There is nothing to restore, because nothing was removed.

## Features tied to a plan pause instead

Some features are included in a plan rather than counted, for example a custom domain, advanced blacklist types, disputes tooling, email marketing or the reseller panel. On a plan without the feature it stops working, but what you set up stays saved.

* A custom domain stops serving and visitors are sent to your SellAuth subdomain. The domain setup stays in the dashboard and starts serving again when you upgrade.
* Blacklist rules of an advanced type stay in the list and keep applying. You cannot create new ones of that type until you upgrade.
* Pages, templates, automations and other configuration are kept and come back as they were.

Payment methods, products, orders and customer data are never part of this. They do not depend on your plan.
