# Quickstart

> Create a shop, connect a payment method, add your first product and take your first order.

This covers getting a working shop live. Allow about fifteen minutes, plus however long your payment processor takes to approve you.

## 1. Create your shop

Sign up at [dash.sellauth.com](https://dash.sellauth.com) and create a shop with a name and a subdomain. Your storefront is live immediately at `your-subdomain.mysellauth.com`.

You can move to your own domain later without losing anything, on a plan that includes custom domains. See [Custom Domain](/guides/custom-domain).

## 2. Connect a way to get paid

Nothing can be sold until at least one payment method is enabled, under [**Payment Methods**](https://dash.sellauth.com/payment-methods).

The fastest options to go live with:

* **Crypto** needs no approval from anyone. SellAuth supports Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and Solana, plus USDT and USDC on both Ethereum and Solana. Add one, paste a payout address, and you can take payments within minutes. Bitcoin and Litecoin are available on every plan. See [Crypto Wallets](/guides/crypto-wallets).
* **Cards** need an account with a payment processor, which has to approve you first. Start with [Stripe](/guides/payment-methods/stripe) if you have a registered business, and read [How to Accept Card Payments](/guides/accept-cards) if this part is unfamiliar.

Most shops end up running both. A processor account can be frozen, and a second method keeps you selling if that happens.

## 3. Add a product

Under [**Products**](https://dash.sellauth.com/products), pick a template matching what you sell, or start from scratch.

The setting to get right is the **delivery type**, which determines what buyers receive:

| You are selling | Choose |
| - | - |
| Keys, accounts, codes you already have | Serials |
| A method, guide or any text sold as-is | Service |
| Something you do by hand after the sale | Service |
| Something your own server generates per buyer | Dynamic |
| Downloads, e-books, asset packs | Files |
| Anything you ship | Physical |

[How Delivery Works](/guides/delivery) has a fuller table if none of those fit exactly.

Then set a price on the variant, load your stock, and write the **instructions** buyers see after paying. An empty instructions field generates support tickets from buyers who do not know what to do with what they bought.

## 4. Test it yourself

Put an order through your own shop before you tell anyone about it. There are two ways to do it, and they check different things.

### Without paying

Place an order on your storefront, leave it unpaid, then open it in [**Invoices**](https://dash.sellauth.com/invoices) and process it manually. Delivery runs exactly as it would for a real payment.

This is free and instant, and it verifies the half that most often goes wrong: your stock, your instructions text and the delivery email. It does not touch your payment method, so it cannot tell you whether that side works.

### With a real payment

Buy the product properly, using a real payment method for the smallest amount you can.

Slower and it costs you the processor's fee, but it is the only way to catch a sandbox API key, a wrong crypto payout address or a broken webhook, because those all fail at payment time rather than at save time.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Check what the buyer received">
    The delivery email and the buyer's checkout page should contain what you expected, in a readable form.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the money arrived, if you paid">
    Look in your processor dashboard or your crypto wallet, rather than relying on the SellAuth order alone.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Do the free version while you are still setting the product up, and one real payment before you open the shop to anyone else.

## 5. Make the shop yours

Under [**Settings**](https://dash.sellauth.com/shop#general), set your logo, description and meta image, so links to your shop look right when shared.

Pick a theme under **Themes** if the default is not what you want. See [Storefront Basics](/guides/storefront-basics).

Fill in your Terms of Service and Refund Policy. Processors ask for the refund policy when a buyer disputes a charge, and writing one after the dispute arrives is too late.

## 6. Start selling

Share your storefront link, or a [checkout link](/developers/checkout-links) that sends buyers straight to one product's checkout.
