Legal pages are the policies your storefront and checkout link to. SellAuth hosts seven page types per shop. You write the content, and every page that has some is linked on your storefront and at checkout on its own. They are managed under Legal & Privacy.
SellAuth hosts these pages; it does not tell you what they must say. Which pages you need and what goes in them depends on where you are based, where your buyers are and what you sell. Have a professional review your pages.

The seven page types

The Cookie Policy is also what the cookie consent banner links to; its starter template lists every cookie a SellAuth storefront can set. The paths are the same on your mysellauth.com subdomain and on a custom domain. /terms redirects to /terms-of-service. These slugs are reserved and cannot be used for custom pages.

Enabling a page

1

Open Legal Pages

Go to Legal & Privacy and pick a page type in the left rail.
2

Write the content

Use the editor, or start from a template (see below). Headings, lists, links and tables are supported.
3

Set a title, if you want one

The title is what the page heading and the footer link say. Leave it blank to use the default, for example “Legal Notice”, or set your own, for example “Impressum” or “AGB”. The SEO section below the editor holds an optional meta title and meta description for search results; when empty, the page title and the theme’s default description are used.
4

Save

A page is live as soon as it has content. Clear the content and save to take it down.
A page without content is not linked anywhere and its URL returns 404.

Starting from a template

Insert template fills the editor with a generic English starting text for that page type. Your shop name, URL and today’s date are filled in; everything else is left as a visible placeholder such as [Company legal name] or [Street address]. Inserting a template replaces what is currently in the editor.
The templates are generic examples, not legal advice, and they are not written for the law of any particular country. Replace every placeholder, adapt the text to your business, and have it checked by a professional before you publish. You are responsible for what your pages say.
  • Checkout links every published page in its footer automatically, using the title you set. The terms checkbox links to your Terms of Service and the withdrawal consent links to your Right of Withdrawal page when it is published.
  • Storefront footers on the official themes list every published page automatically, after your own footer links, once you update your theme to the version that ships legal pages. Pages you already link by hand are not repeated. The auto-list can be turned off in the footer settings of the visual editor, in which case you add the links yourself.
  • Custom or older themes without a legal-page template still render the three original pages through their existing templates, and return 404 for the four newer page types until the theme is updated. A custom theme needs the template added. See Theme Structure.

API

Legal pages have their own endpoints under Legal Pages in the API reference: list the pages of a shop, update one page by type, and fetch the starter template for a type. The shop endpoints no longer carry terms, privacy_policy or refund_policy; the update endpoint ignores those keys.
