PayMongo is a Philippine payment processor. Buyers pay on PayMongo’s hosted checkout page with a card, an e-wallet (GCash, Maya, GrabPay, ShopeePay), QR Ph, online banking (BPI, UnionBank, BDO, Landbank, Metrobank) or a buy now, pay later plan (BillEase, Atome), then return to your store. PayMongo settles in Philippine pesos only. If your shop or a product uses another currency, SellAuth converts the total to PHP at checkout time and shows the buyer the PHP amount on the PayMongo page. Setup needs one value, your secret key. SellAuth registers the webhook endpoint that reports payments for you when you save.
Live payments need an activated PayMongo account. Until PayMongo finishes verifying your business, only test-mode keys work and no real money moves.

Settings

Secret key. Found under Developers in the PayMongo dashboard. Use the live secret key (sk_live_...) to accept real payments. A test key (sk_test_...) connects to PayMongo’s test mode instead. Payment methods. The methods offered on the PayMongo checkout page. Every method you pick must also be enabled on your PayMongo account under Payment Methods, otherwise buyers see an error when they try to pay with it. Leave the list empty to offer cards, GCash, Maya, GrabPay and QR Ph. Pass on fees. Off by default, which means PayMongo deducts its transaction fee from what you receive. Turn it on to add the fee on top of your price instead. The fee depends on the method the buyer picks, so the PayMongo page updates the total once they choose one. PayMongo email receipt. Off by default. Turn it on if you also want PayMongo to email the buyer its own receipt after a successful payment. SellAuth sends its order emails either way.

Connect your account

1

Open the Developers page

Log in to the PayMongo dashboard. Make sure the mode toggle is set to Live if you want real payments. Keys are shown after multi-factor authentication.
2

Copy the secret key

Copy the secret key, the one that starts with sk_live_. The public key is not needed.
3

Paste it and save

Put it in Secret Key on the SellAuth payment method page, pick the payment methods you have enabled on PayMongo and save.
On save, SellAuth registers a webhook endpoint in your PayMongo account that listens for checkout_session.payment.paid. Leave it in place: without it, orders stay pending after the buyer pays. If PayMongo disables the endpoint after a run of failed deliveries, open the method in SellAuth and save it again to re-enable it.

Test it

Save a test secret key (sk_test_...) and buy something cheap from your own shop. On the PayMongo page use card number 4343434343434345 with any future expiry and any CVC, or pick an e-wallet and choose Authorize on the simulator page. Switch back to the live key when you are done. Changing the key registers a fresh webhook for that mode.

Fees and limits

All of the shared method settings apply, including a percentage or fixed fee or discount for choosing PayMongo, a minimum and maximum order amount, and a custom checkout button label and icon. Orders below PHP 1.00 cannot be paid with PayMongo. PayMongo also applies its own per-method limits, for example PHP 100 minimum for BDO, BillEase and Atome, and caps of PHP 100,000 for e-wallets and PHP 50,000 for most online banking methods. An order outside those limits fails on the PayMongo page. Buyer cancels return to your store and cancel the order. A buyer who abandons the PayMongo page can come back to the order page and start over.

Troubleshooting

Saving the key reports a webhook error. The key is wrong, was revoked, or belongs to another mode than expected. Copy the secret key again from the Developers page and save. A payment method fails or is missing on the PayMongo page. A method you selected in SellAuth is not enabled on your PayMongo account. Enable it under Payment Methods in the PayMongo dashboard, or remove it from the list in SellAuth. Payments succeed but orders stay pending. The webhook endpoint was removed or disabled in the PayMongo dashboard. Open the method in SellAuth and save it again to recreate or re-enable it. The amount on the PayMongo page differs from the store. Either the order was converted to PHP, or Pass on fees is on and PayMongo added its fee. Both are expected.
